Student Program

We look to hire students who are interested in international trade and federal regulatory law. Our students will work on complex administrative law, international trade, litigation, public procurement, transportation and other federal regulatory issues. This will involve providing support to our lawyers in ongoing disputes before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, Canadian Transportation Agency, Federal Court of Appeal and Ontario Court as well as researching and drafting. We will engage our students in projects that build not only conventional legal skills, but also tools for client interaction, policy interpretation, strategic planning and relationship management.

We typically hire one second-year summer student and one articling student.

Students are assigned a mentor to offer advice and guidance during their summer/articles. We also encourage our students to participate in our social events throughout the year.

We offer a very competitive compensation and benefits package.

Summer Students

The second-year summer student will generally work from mid-May to late August. You will receive a formal evaluation at the end of the summer as well as regular feedback from the lawyers you are working with over the course of the summer.

Articling Students

The articling student will generally start work in mid-August. You will receive formal evaluations half-way and at the end of your articles as well as regular feedback from the lawyers you are working with over the course of the year. While we do not have guaranteed hire-back, we seek to grow our firm from within.
