Counsel
Jean Bédard is counsel at Conlin Bedard, focusing on international trade, procurement, customs, and arbitration. Jean is the past Chairperson of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal where he presided over numerous international trade proceedings in matters related to anti-dumping and countervailing duties, customs appeals, and procurement challenges.
Jean is accredited as an arbitrator by the Barreau du Québec and holds the designation of Qualified Arbitrator granted by the ADR Institute of Canada. He has adjudicated disputes in various capacities since 2002. In 2021, Jean was appointed by the Government of Ontario as a member of the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board and of the Health Services Appeal and Review Board.
Prior to his appointment to the CITT in 2014, Jean practiced business law in private practice and in-house, including as General Counsel (International Operations) of a U.S. based financial services corporation.
He practices in both English and French.
